The Stephen A. Mitchell Author's Award:

Every two years, the Board of Directors and the Candidates Committee of IARPP invite candidates to join the competition for the Stephen A. Mitchell Authors Award, to be given at the biannual IARPP International Conference. The winner of the award is given a plaque and $500 at the conference. She or he will have the opportunity to present the paper at a workshop with a well-known discussant at her/his side.

We extend an invitation to candidates from all participating institutes around the world to submit papers. The paper should be complete and no more than 20 pages, double-spaced, in length. Each paper should be accompanied by an abstract.

This year’s deadline is October 1, 2009. The paper will be judged by readers who have been selected by the Candidates Committee. All writers who submit papers should have them translated into English. The writer must be a member of IARPP and a psychoanalytic candidate. A candidate, in terms of IARPP, is someone who is either in a psychoanalytic program or within five years of graduation or certification. The writer of the chosen paper will be informed the following spring.

Papers should be sent to the member of the Candidates Committee in your country. If your country is not represented on the Candidates Committee, you may send it to any member.
