Dear IARPP Members,<\/p>\n

I will focus my comment on the\u00a02nd IARRP Online Symposium that took place October 23-24, 2021 entitled: \u201c\u2018The enemy within and without\u2019: Exclusion and belongings in intrapsychic, interpersonal, and socio-cultural experience.\u201d As many people wrote to me personally, it was a wonderful experience especially because we breathed a nice community atmosphere\u00a0despite the online format and the great lack of meeting in person.<\/p>\n

As I was the chair of the Symposium, I followed in detail all the process, and despite the work of the last few days, which was a lot, I got great satisfaction from it.<\/p>\n

I want to thank once again here Elisa Zazzera for her invaluable organizational work, the organizing committee, and the faculty who joined this initiative with immediate conviction, particularly to this topic. A special gratitude from the whole IARPP community must be paid to those colleagues who have done their best with great generosity and effectiveness to make translations of the works available in four languages: Spanish, Greek, Hebrew and Italian. We developed a very efficient and warm collaboration among us: Marie Saba and Alexandra Toribio Caballero coordinated the Spanish translations with the help of the local chapters of Per\u00f9, Buenos Aires, Chile and Spain; Stavros Charalambides coordinated the Greek translations; Ilana Laor and Micha Weiss coordinated the Hebrew translators with the contribution of the Israel local chapter; and I took care of the Italian translations with the generous help of colleagues of my Institute\u00a0ISIPS\u00c9. Many attendees commented that the meeting of minds, but also the meeting of languages, made the difference, giving a truly international flavor to the symposium.<\/p>\n

We had 417 registrants from 23 countries around the world: particularly large groups from Greece, Italy, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Canada, Chile, and of course from the US. It was also exciting hearing voices from European contexts in which relational psychoanalysis is not yet as well known, as in Austria, Romania and Poland.<\/p>\n

The discussion groups organized after the plenaries gave the opportunity to exchange glances and ideas in a more personal way. The discussion groups were conducted in different languages,\u00a0as we know language shapes and articulates thought.<\/p>\n

The powerful image that Donna Bassin generously granted us for the symposium\u2019s brochure as well as her presentation\u00a0were with all of us connected with the symposium experience, and many people resonated with her work in the discussion groups.<\/p>\n

As I said in my introduction, navigating the paradoxes and riches of relational complexities with all the involvement of our deepest, most subjective and vulnerable emotional life is the daily practice of our clinical work.\u00a0I am convinced that the depth of these experiences has something important to offer to the current world so trapped in the non-thought of polarizations, of the impossibility of transcending the wounds and offenses suffered and inflicted.<\/p>\n

I think that all of us together have been able to feel that we are\u00a0a \u2018thinking community\u2019 that wants to offer recognition and enhance the richness of differences in the continuous effort to dialogue and open up itself to new perspectives.<\/p>\n

Cari Soci IARPP,<\/p>\n

Concentrer\u00f2 il mio commento sul 2\u00b0 Simposio online che si \u00e8 svolto il 23-24 Ottobre 2021 dal titolo: \u201cIl nemico dentro e fuori. Esclusione e appartenenza nell\u2019esperienza intrapsichica, interpersonale e socio-culturale<\/em>\u201d. Molte persone mi hanno scritto personalmente per dirmi che \u00e8 stata davvero una bella esperienza soprattutto perch\u00e9 si \u00e8 respirata una bella atmosfera di comunit\u00e0, malgrado la modalit\u00e0 online e la grande mancanza di poterci incontrare di persona.<\/p>\n

Dato che sono stata chair del simposio, ho seguito tutto il processo in dettaglio, malgrado il lavoro degli ultimi giorni, che \u00e8 stato tanto, ne ho tratto grande soddisfazione.<\/p>\n

Voglio ringraziare ancora una volta Elisa Zazzera per il suo impagabile lavoro organizzativo; il comitato organizzatore e la Faculty che si sono impegnati in questa iniziativa con immediata convinzione, in particolare per le tematiche dell\u2019incontro.<\/p>\n

Una gratitudine speciale da parte di tutta la comunit\u00e0 IARPP va espressa per tutti quei colleghi che hanno fatto del loro meglio con grande generosit\u00e0 ed efficacia per rendere disponibili le traduzioni delle presentazioni in quattro lingue: Spagnolo, Greco, Ebraico, Italiano. Si \u00e8 creato un gruppo di lavoro al tempo stesso efficiente e amichevole: Marie Saba e Alexandra Toribio Caballero hanno coordinato le traduzioni in spagnolo con l\u2019aiuto dei Local Chapter IARPP di Per\u00f9, Buenos Aires, Cile e Spagna; Stavros Charalambides ha coordinato le traduzioni in greco; Ilana Laor e Micha Weiss hanno coordinato i traduttori in ebraico con il contributo del Local Chapter israeliano; ed io ho curato le traduzioni in italiano con il generoso aiuto dei colleghi del mio istituto ISIPS\u00c9. Molti partecipanti hanno commentato che l\u2019 \u2018incontrarsi delle menti\u2019, ma anche l\u2019incontrarsi delle lingue, ha fatto la differenza, donando una qualit\u00e0 davvero internazionale al simposio.<\/p>\n

Abbiamo avuto 411 iscritti da 23 paesi nel mondo: particolarmente numerosi i gruppi da Grecia, Italia, Israele, Spagna, Portogallo, Canada, Cile, e naturalmente dagli Stati Uniti. \u00c8 stato emozionante anche sentire delle voci da contesti europei in cui la psicoanalisi relazionale non \u00e8 ancora molto conosciuta, come Austria, Romania, Polonia.<\/p>\n

I gruppi di discussione che si sono svolti dopo le plenarie ci hanno dato l\u2019opportunit\u00e0 di scambiare sguardi e idee in un modo pi\u00f9 personale. I gruppi sono stati condotti in diverse lingue, sappiamo infatti che il linguaggio forma e articola il pensiero.<\/p>\n

La potente immagine che Donna Bassin ha generosamente concesso per la brochure e la sua toccante presentazione hanno accompagnato tutti noi nella viva esperienza del simposio, molte persone hanno risuonato con il suo lavoro nei gruppi di discussione.<\/p>\n

Come ho detto nella mia introduzione, navigare i paradossi e le ricchezze delle complessit\u00e0 relazionali con tutto il coinvolgimento della nostra pi\u00f9 profonda, soggettiva e vulnerabile vita emotiva \u00e8 la pratica quotidiana del nostro lavoro clinico. Sono convinta che la profondit\u00e0 di queste esperienze abbia qualcosa d\u2019importante da offrire al mondo attuale cos\u00ec intrappolato nel non-pensiero delle polarizzazioni, dell\u2019impossibilit\u00e0 di trascendere le ferite e le offese subite e inferte.<\/p>\n

Penso che tutti insieme abbiamo potuto sentire di essere una \u2018comunit\u00e0 pensante\u2019 che vuole dare riconoscimento e valorizzare la ricchezza delle differenze nel continuo sforzo di dialogare e aprirsi a nuove prospettive.<\/p>\n

Auguro a tutti un sereno e creativo anno nuovo,<\/p>\n
