IARPP-Athens is continuing its series of training seminars for mental health professionals. We are thrilled to announce a new seminar on \u201cPsychoanalytic Dream Work\u201d with Deborah Luepnitz (USA). The seminar\u2019s method can be considered classical\/relational. That is, it will begin with the classical technique outlined by Freud in The Interpretation of Dreams<\/em>, but the manner of folding the dream into the treatment will be relational, in line with Aron’s (1996) view of the analytic relationship as one of “mutuality in the context of asymmetry.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Luepnitz will begin by teaching the essential classical technique with one long clinical example. In subsequent meetings, she will continue to bring in sample dreams, and participants will be invited to bring in dreams of their own, or of their patients, which will be interpreted together. There will be several suggested readings, but the emphasis will be on skill-building. The seminar and readings will be in English, and thus limited to those who are fluent.<\/p>\n
