This year the IARPP Thessaloniki Chapter launched an annual seminar on the Theory and Clinical Practice of Relational Psychoanalysis. This seminar is offered in Greek and is open to all interested mental health professionals and psychology graduate students. Steven Kuchuck\u2019s (USA) excellent book on the \u201cRelational Revolution\u201d served as our guide, and topics covered include the historical and philosophical roots of Relational Psychoanalysis, Intersubjectivity, Attachment, Trauma and Dissociation, Enactment and Self-Disclosure. We end our classes in May with a critical appraisal of the Relational movement by our invited speaker, Jon Mills (USA).<\/p>\n

During the past two years, the Study Group on Ecopsychoanalysis has worked on the sociopolitical, ethical and philosophical issues associated with this field. This year its focus shifted to studying the post-human condition. Our preliminary goal is to deepen our understanding of the increasing digitalization of our clinical practice as well as almost all aspects of life, with the help of philosophers Francesca Ferrando, professor at New York University (USA) and Theofanis Tassis, professor at the University of Klagenfurt\u00a0(Austria). In January we had an interesting discussion with Professor Tassis on digital humanism, trans-humanism and augmented reality.<\/p>\n

In addition, our colleague Konstantinos Dimatis, a child psychologist, launched a two-year long seminar on the Theory and Clinical Applications of Attachment.<\/p>\n

Our activities have attracted both young and experienced mental health professionals eager to gather together to discuss current clinical and sociopolitical issues. Their welcoming response encourages all members of the Thessaloniki Chapter to continue expanding our projects.<\/p>\n
