IARPP Chile Activities during 2012<\/strong>

\u2022 January 2012:\u00a0visit of Mauricio Cortina who gave a Conference on Psychotherapy and Attachment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 May, June and August 2012 : A series, named Psychoanalytic Dialogues,\u00a0 explored the main theme of Psychoanalysis and Philosophy. We had a Conference by philosopher, Vicente Serrano, in which the relevance of Spinoza was discussed in regards to the relation to death anxieties. In the other two dialogues,\u00a0 the psychologists, Carlos Cornejo and Andre Sassenfeld presented the Phenomenological Tradition in Psychology and the Philosophical Underpinnings of Relational Psychotherapy.<\/p>\n

\u2022 August 2012:\u00a0 International Seminar with Donna Orange for IARPP members. Many IARPP members also had he opportunity to share with Donna Orange and Mary Lynne Ellis at the Psychotherapy Chilean Congress that is held every year at Re\u00f1aca, a summer place near Vi\u00f1a del Mar.<\/p>\n

\u2022 October 2012:\u00a0 Seminar on Mindfulness and Psychotherapy for IARPP Members and other professionals.<\/p>\n

\u2022 November 2012:\u00a0 International Seminar with Lew Aron.\u00a0 Activities with IARPP members and mental health professionals from other institutions.<\/p>\n

At\u00a0 the New York IARPP Conference In February 2012 Santiago was chosen as the venue for the 2013 IARPP Conference. During the last year the Chapter has been working on the organization of the Conference. Many Members have been collaborating with the initiative efficiently and with enthusiasm and generosity for which the Co-Chairs, Mar\u00eda Eugenia Boetsch and Juan Francisco Jord\u00e1n are grateful. The great number of abstracts we received to be assessed arouses expectations of a high number of participants and quality of presentations.\u00a0 The Chapter will continue with the organization of the Conference during the remainder of the year.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We will receive all IARPP Members who come to Santiago in November with open arms.<\/p>\n

2012 was an important year for the future of psychoanalysis in Portugal. The creation of a local chapter of IARPP, made up of 18 experienced psychoanalysts and psychotherapists, finally brought together all of those interested in a relational approach. A new home for psychoanalysis is being built in our country.\u00a0 It is an open and vibrant place with foundations based both on the ethics of responsibility towards one another and on the hermeneutics of trust — areas we intend to study, develop and investigate, in line with the immense psychoanalytic heritage we take as our own, from Freud until today, from the theories of repression and drives to intersubjective theories and contextual phenomenology.<\/p>\n

\"portugal1\"First Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Course<\/strong>
\nIn collaboration with a post-graduate school of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, APPSI, Portuguese Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, this first year of IARPP Portugal witnessed the creation of the first relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy course, lasting 4 years. In 2013, APPSI will have 38 trainees, both psychologists and doctors, taking part in this new relational program. The course program includes seminars on “The Work of Freud,\u201d “Beyond Freud,\u201d “Theory and Practice in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Relational Analysis,” “Psychoanalytic Psychopathology,\u201d\u00a0 “Relational Models in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy” among others, including a major focus on clinical seminars.\u00a0 Each seminar carries on throughout the year totaling around 60 hours, reflecting the high level of requirements demanded for this training. Trainees must also undergo personal therapy (either psychoanalysis or psychotherapy) and supervision, together with the possibility of participation in working groups for the affirmation and development of psychoanalysis. The training ends with the presentation and validation of a clinical report, presented at an open meeting for members, an innovative practice in Portugal.<\/p>\n

Open Scientifc and Clinical Sessions<\/strong>
\nIn 2012\/13, the partnership with APPSI will continue as well other activities. Namely there will be a cycle of scientific and clinical sessions with themes related to the relational perspective on psychotherapy. This cycle is open to college students and professionals, as well as members of other societies and psychoanalytic associations. The sessions are presented either by senior members, members in training or external guests.<\/p>\n

New Low-Cost Psychotherapy Social Clinic<\/strong>
\nThis philosophy of open and horizontal participation also characterizes the new social clinic, which has been created in order to promote our relationship with the community and provide low-cost psychotherapy to anyone who, due to the present economic crisis, has lost or diminished their financial resources. Members of all categories and different levels of experience have offered their time for this social activity, whether it is for administrative functions, clinical assessments, psychotherapy or supervision.<\/p>\n

Cinema and Psychoanalysis Cycle<\/strong>
\nAlso, a cinema and psychoanalysis cycle on the theme of “Good Feelings” is taking place, inspired by the book “Good Feelings \u2013 Psychoanalytic Reflections on Positive Emotions and Attitudes” (Salman Akhtar, ed. 2009). It begins with Enthusiasm (“La Strada”, Fellini) and continues with Friendship, Humor, Altruism, and will end with Courage and Resilience (back to Fellini with “Le Notti di Cabiria”). This program follows the first cinema cycle on “The Feminine” that was held in 2012. Approaching the “Other,” the person and the community, driven by \u201cgood feelings\u201d are definite marks of the spirit of IARPP Portugal.<\/p>\n

New Web Platform & Upcoming Conferences<\/strong>
\nA new web platform will be created for IARPP-P in 2013 that will allow sharing of the Newsletter with APPSI. Also a conference is being organized with the Municipality of Tavira (Algarve), where, together with local mental health, education and social service professionals, the theme of \u201cMental Health, Development and Education\u201d will be discussed in a relational perspective. We are also preparing the\u00a01st Conference on Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy<\/strong>, which we hope will take place later on this year.<\/p>\n

International Participation in IARPP Events<\/strong>
\nPortuguese delegations will be present both at the IARPP International Conference in Santiago, Chile, in November, as well as in the Fourth Annual Meeting of IARPP Spain, in Barcelona, in May. We were present, in 2012, at the New York IARPP Conference. In Spain we participated, both in Seville, with our Spanish colleagues Coderch, Riera, \u00c1vila-Espada, Jimenez, Sut\u00edl, Velasco and many others (gracias, amigos<\/em>, for your warm welcome!) and Jessica Benjamin, and Madrid, with Donna Orange and, on another occasion, with Robert Stolorow. Together with our Spanish colleagues we carried out an interview with Robert Stolorow and published a chronicle of the Portuguese encounter with intersubjective psychoanalysis in the journal\u00a0Clinica y Investigaci\u00f3n Relacional<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that there have been several requests for IARPP Portugal to promote a training course for psychoanalysts, which shows the interest and hope placed in this new institution.<\/p>\n

Relational Psychoanalysis, the fertile dynamics of its model, ideas \u2013\u00a0and people<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 are our inspiration. We will always be open to learning about the experience of our partners and friends in IARPP and try to contribute to the affirmation of our core values, namely responsibility, freedom, openness to the Other, together with progress and friendship, both in the analytical field and society.<\/p>\n

O ano de 2012 foi um bom ano para o futuro da Psican\u00e1lise em Portugal. A cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um\u00a0chapter\u00a0<\/em>portugu\u00eas da IARPP, constitu\u00eddo por 18 psicanalistas e psicoterapeutas com experi\u00eancia, veio agregar e dar corpo a uma sensibilidade e pr\u00e1tica relacional. Estamos a construir a casa da nova psican\u00e1lise no nosso pa\u00eds, uma casa que fazemos em equipa, aberta e luminosa, e assente na \u00c9tica da responsabilidade face ao outro e na hermen\u00eautica da confian\u00e7a, que nos propomos estudar, desenvolver e aprofundar, sobre o enorme patrim\u00f3nio psicanal\u00edtico que assumimos como nosso, de Freud ao presente, das teorias do recalcamento e das puls\u00f5es \u00e0 rela\u00e7\u00e3o intersubjectiva, \u00e0 fenomenologia contextualista.<\/p>\n

\"portugal1\"Neste primeiro ano da IARPP Portugal, cri\u00e1mos, em articula\u00e7\u00e3o com uma escola p\u00f3s-graduada de psicoterapia psicanal\u00edtica (a APPSI \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Psicoterapia Psicanal\u00edtica), o primeiro curso, em Portugal, de psicoterapia psicanal\u00edtica relacional, com a dura\u00e7\u00e3o de 4 anos. Em 2013, a APPSI ter\u00e1 em forma\u00e7\u00e3o 38 pessoas, Psic\u00f3logos e M\u00e9dicos, no novo programa relacional. O programa do curso inclui semin\u00e1rios sobre \u201cA Obra de Freud\u201d, \u201cPara Al\u00e9m de Freud\u201d, \u201cTeoria e Pr\u00e1tica da Psicoterapia Psicanal\u00edtica e An\u00e1lise Relacional\u201d, \u201cPsicopatologia Psicanal\u00edtica\u201d, \u201cModelos Relacionais em Psican\u00e1lise e Psicoterapia\u201d, entre outros, incluindo um importante foco em semin\u00e1rios cl\u00ednicos. Cada um dos semin\u00e1rios citados desenvolve-se ao longo do ano, com cerca de 60h cada, o que reflecte a exig\u00eancia e o aprofundamento visados. A forma\u00e7\u00e3o articula-se com exig\u00eancias de percursos anal\u00edticos pessoais (em psican\u00e1lise ou psicoterapia) e de supervis\u00e3o, e com a possibilidade de participa\u00e7\u00e3o em grupos de trabalho para a afirma\u00e7\u00e3o e o desenvolvimento da psican\u00e1lise. Os cursos terminam com a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o e valida\u00e7\u00e3o de\u00a0mem\u00f3rias cl\u00ednicas em Assembleia Geral<\/strong>, uma pr\u00e1tica inovadora em Portugal.<\/p>\n

Para 2012\/2013, no \u00e2mbito da parceria com a APPSI, foram ainda desenvolvidas outras actividades, tendo sido organizado um\u00a0ciclo de sess\u00f5es cient\u00edficas e cl\u00ednicas<\/strong>\u00a0com tem\u00e1ticas ligadas \u00e0 perspectiva relacional. O ciclo \u00e9 aberto a estudantes universit\u00e1rios e profissionais, assim como a membros de outras sociedades e associa\u00e7\u00f5es psicanal\u00edticas, As sess\u00f5es podem ser apresentadas quer por membros seniores, quer por membros em forma\u00e7\u00e3o, ou por convidados externos. Esta l\u00f3gica de participa\u00e7\u00e3o horizontal e aberta preside, tamb\u00e9m, \u00e0\u00a0nova cl\u00ednica social<\/strong>, que \u00e9 destinada a promover a rela\u00e7\u00e3o com a comunidade e a proporcionar psicoterapia a baixos custos a quem n\u00e3o tem ou perdeu, com a crise, os recursos para o efeito. Membros de todas as categorias e n\u00edveis de experi\u00eancia disponibilizam o seu tempo para esta actividade social, seja participando em actividades administrativas, de triagem, em acompanhamentos ou supervis\u00f5es. Paralelamente, foi organizado um\u00a0ciclo de cinema<\/strong>\u00a0e debate psicanal\u00edtico sobre \u201cGood Feelings\u201d, inspirado no livro \u201cGood Feelings \u2013 Psychoanalytic Reflections on Positive Emotions and Attitudes” (Salman Akhtar, Ed., 2009), que se inicia com o Entusiamo (com \u201cLa Strada\u201d de Fellini) e prossegue pela Amizade, o Humor, o Altru\u00edsmo, a Coragem e fecha com a Resili\u00eancia (de volta a Fellini, com \u201cLe Notti di Cabiria\u201d), que vem suceder ao primeiro ciclo, sobre \u201cO Feminino\u201d, realizado em 2012. A aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o ao Outro, \u00e0 pessoa e \u00e0 comunidade, movida por \u201cgood feelings\u201d \u00e9 uma marca do esp\u00edrito da IARPP Portugal.<\/p>\n

Tamb\u00e9m em 2013, ser\u00e1 lan\u00e7ada uma nova\u00a0P\u00e1gina na Internet<\/strong>\u00a0da IARPP-P e uma nova\u00a0Newsletter<\/strong>, em articula\u00e7\u00e3o com a APPSI. Estamos a organizar um\u00a0Encontro\u00a0<\/strong>em parceria com a C\u00e2mara Municipal de Tavira, no Algarve, onde procuraremos construir uma perspectiva relacional sobre o tema Desenvolvimento, Educa\u00e7\u00e3o e Psican\u00e1lise, reunindo profissionais da psicoterapia, da psicologia, da educa\u00e7\u00e3o e do servi\u00e7o social desta importante regi\u00e3o de Portugal. Prevemos tamb\u00e9m organizar, em 2013, a\u00a01\u00aa Confer\u00eancia em Psicoterapia e Psican\u00e1lise Relacional<\/strong>.
\nParticiparemos, ainda, com delega\u00e7\u00f5es portuguesas, quer na\u00a0IARPP International Conference<\/strong>, em Santiago do Chile, quer na\u00a0IV Reuni\u00e3o Anual da IARPP Espanha<\/strong>\u00a0em Barcelona. Estivemos j\u00e1, em 2012, na Confer\u00eancia IARPP de Nova Iorque e, em Espanha, em Sevilha, com os nossos colegas espanh\u00f3is Coderch, Riera, Avila-Espada, Jimenez, Sutil, Velasco e tantos outros (gracias, amigos<\/em>, pelo vosso acolhimento) e com Jessica Benjamin e, em Madrid, com Donna Orange e, noutra ocasi\u00e3o, com Robert Stolorow. Fizemos, em conjunto, uma entrevista de fundo com Robert Stolorow e public\u00e1mos uma cr\u00f3nica portuguesa desse encontro com a psican\u00e1lise intersubjectiva na revista electr\u00f3nica\u00a0Clinica y Investigacion Relacional<\/em>.
\n\u00c9 de referir que t\u00eam havido v\u00e1rios pedidos para que a IARPP Portugal promova a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de Psicanalistas, o que revela o interesse e a esperan\u00e7a nesta nova institui\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n
