Dear IARPP Members,<\/h4>\n

What a pleasure to report to you on a number of \u00a0IARPP \u201cFirsts\u201d in the\u00a0eNews!<\/a><\/p>\n

We are writing you under the banner of the new IARPP logo designed by Yuko Uchikawa. It is the first of changes to come to our whole website. \u00a0For the first time we have embedded a translation feature for our readers so that you can translate the English from the eNews to your native language. (Translator is in upper right of\u00a0web page<\/a>\u00a0next to search window) In another first, you will find a\u00a0letter from our new incoming president, Susanna Federici-Nebbiossi<\/a>, who presents a roadmap for IARPP during her tenure.<\/p>\n

In a groundbreaking first, our next\u00a0IARPP conference in Chile, November 7-10<\/a>, will be our first in South America and our first bi-lingual conference conducted in both Spanish and English. \u00a0We hope you will join your IARPP colleagues and come to Santiago during the lovely Chilean springtime.<\/p>\n

In another first, we present a detailed look at the fascinating structure of the recent \u201cMultiple Spheres of Engagement\u201d \u00a0conference held January 10-11 in Tel Aviv, Israel<\/a>. \u00a0The planners of the conference took a bold step in the design of the two day event. Employing in depth learning and discussion circles, the organizers shattered the traditional format of presenter\/expert speaking in front of a passive audience. \u00a0Embracing the spirit of relational mutuality, the form and content of this gathering could serve as a model for future relational conferences.<\/p>\n

You’ll read about IARPP member, Jack Drescher’s \u00a0participation in the first ever UN discussion on the international health and policy consequences of sexual orientation change called, \u201cSelling the Promise of Change.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

As always you will see how IARPP’s international reach continues to grow. \u00a0From\u00a0Portugal<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Chile<\/a>, From\u00a0Italy<\/a>to\u00a0Alaska<\/a>\u00a0we hear from therapists and theorists around the globe who are extending and enriching relational psychoanalytic thought. \u00a0You’ll also discover what rich educational opportunities our\u00a0colloquium<\/a>,\u00a0webinar,<\/a>\u00a0andcandidates committee<\/a>\u00a0members are planning for all of us.<\/p>\n

Take a moment to try the suggestions in Suzi Naiburg’s recent column for writers,\u00a0Write On!<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0She shows you how to delve into the countertransference to capture preverbal experience in the verbal with \u201cMood Music.\u201d<\/p>\n
