During the closing plenary at the IARPP conference in Toronto, Marianna Zeltser shared a poem she had written in response to her experience at the conference.
\nIt is presented here in its entirety:<\/em><\/p>\n

Brave Heart Forgives with Music<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I feel the sadness that filled my heart
\nFrom the place of freedom I have fallen
\nTo a place where loneliness is my only friend and companion
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What precipitated the loss?
\nIs this my familiar ground?
\nWhy do I need to revisit the empty house of grief?
\nHave I created this space to reconnect through the painful sadness to my past?
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It takes courage to forgive
\nTo forever let go of what has been a bridge
\nConnecting you in pain to your frozen need
\nThat fills the void with wild rage and urges you to strike
\nBecause all you know is that it hurts like hell
\nAnd what you want is to break the cage and kill it off\u2028\u2028<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Forgive it means to let it rest without pride for its success
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Forgive and let it free your soul\u2019s degrading quest
\nForgive for All that meant to be
\nBut failed once and once again
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

To let go with pure simple sense
\nIt takes your soul a lifelong test<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

But your heart is brave, no matter what
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In this loneliness I am looking for you
\nMy friend, my partner, my true love
\nI remember the melody that touched my heart
\nAnd attempt to hear the sound resonate once again from my own heart\u2028\u2028<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I touch the key of piano and soft, gentle energy emerges to meet me
\nI touch the keys again and again
\nEmbracing, rediscovering and recreating the sound of hope
\nI am no longer alone
\nYou are here with me my music of love
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He who is not lonely is never loved
\nOnly through the longing we create reality of our dreams
\nWe test and compare
\nBut true one is felt in every way\u2028\u2028<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Forgive with grace
\nAnd let all that hurts forever free
\nWith love you matter
\nSo shine your faith\u2028\u2028<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Noble and kind one is searching
\nBut not knowing yet
\nThat I exist within this transcendent truth
\nBy simply being
\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Let your humble heart be free
\nLet go…let it go…let it be<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
