Analysis and Activism<\/em><\/strong> is presented in six parts:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Section One \u2013 Interventions<\/strong><\/em>, includes discussion of what working outside the consulting room means, as well as descriptions of work with displaced children in Colombia, <\/strong>projects for migrants in Italy, and an analyst\u2019s engagement in the struggles of indigenous Australians.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Section Two\u00a0\u2013 Equalities and Inequalities<\/em><\/strong>, tackles topics ranging from the collapse of care systems in the UK to working with victims of torture.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Section Three\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 Politics and Modernity<\/strong><\/em>, looks at the struggles of native people in Guatemala and Canada and oral history interviews with members of the Chinese\/Vietnamese diaspora.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Section Four\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 Culture and Identity<\/strong><\/em>, studies issues of race and class in Brazil, feminism and the gendered imagination, and the introduction of Obamacare in the USA.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Section Five\u00a0\u2013 Cultural Phantoms<\/strong><\/em>, examines the continuing trauma of the Cultural Revolution in China, Jung\u2019s relationship with Jews and Judaism, and German-Jewish dynamics.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Finally, Section Six\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 Nature: Truth and Reconciliation<\/strong><\/em>, looks at our broken connection to nature, town and country planning, and relief work after the 2011 earthquake in Japan.<\/p>\n

There remains throughout the book an acknowledgement that the project of thinking forward the political in Jungian psychology can be problematic, given Jung\u2019s own questionable political history. What emerges is a radical and progressive Jungian approach to politics informed by the spirit of the times as well as by the spirit of the depths.<\/p>\n

This cutting-edge collection will be essential reading for Jungian and post-Jungian academics and analysts, psychotherapists, counselors and psychologists, and academics and students of politics, sociology, psychosocial studies, and cultural studies.<\/p>\n

\"kiehlphoto0616w\"Emilija Kiehl<\/strong> is a Jungian analyst in private practice in London. She is Chair of the British Jungian Analytic Association (BJAA) and member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). She teaches on the BJAA external courses and on the BJAA\/Birkbeck, University of London MSc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development.<\/p>\n

\"sabanphoto0616w\"Mark Saban<\/strong> is a Jungian analyst working in Oxford and London. He also lectures on Jungian psychology at the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex. He is the author of numerous journal articles and book chapters.<\/p>\n

\"samuelsphoto0616w\"Andrew Samuels, DHL,<\/strong> works internationally as a political consultant with politicians, parties and activist groups. He was co-founder of Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility in 1994 and chair of the UK Council for Psychotherapy 2009\u20132012, and is Professor of Analytical Psychology at Essex and Visiting Professor at New York, Roehampton, Macau and Goldsmiths, University of London. His books have been translated into 21 languages.
