Following last spring\u2019s workshop on holding led by Joyce Slochower (USA)<\/strong>, we are excited that Adrienne Harris (USA)<\/strong> accepted our invitation to teach a year-long seminar via Skype. Harris is focusing on the history and evolution of key psychoanalytic concepts from a relational perspective. She is teaching an audience comprising members who participated in the three-year IARPP Study Group on relational thinking begun in 2008, as well as newcomers, analysts eager to expand their thinking and learn new clinical approaches. Harris\u2019 admirable breadth of knowledge and clarity of thinking were evident in our first class. We look forward to continuing our monthly meetings.<\/p>\n

We also started another year-long seminar on creative writing in psychoanalysis with Suzi Naiburg (USA)<\/strong>, to better develop our writing skills. Naiburg\u2019s natural teaching skills and warmth made us all feel at ease and most eager to learn more about presenting our clinical material in written form.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to provide our members with a thorough and scholarly immersion in the relational tradition in order to enrich their theoretical thinking and clinical skills. As our membership increases in the years to come, those of us with the greatest exposure to the relational sensibility will organize study groups for newcomers and younger colleagues. We are thus creating a solid foundation for collaborations and creative projects in the near future.<\/p>\n
