In the midst of a quarantine on many of our counties in Santiago, and in three or more in the rest of our country as of this writing, I share this report of our activities in the last six or so months.<\/p>\n

As many of you may know, the coronavirus pandemic superimposed itself over the social explosion of our country, a battle for dignity and social human rights that have been denied for many years. The beginning of March saw many protests, the biggest one on Women\u2019s Day. Awesome. A familiar gathering of hundred of thousands of women \u2013 mothers, grandmas, sisters, daughters, couples, you name it \u2013 with a creativity that will be remembered for years to come. But then came the pandemic, and social protest disappeared as the population started to gain consciousness of the threat we are all facing. Mass gatherings started to be limited by the government till finally they have faded away. So this is the context in which we are now dwelling.<\/p>\n

During the social explosion we organized a Town Hall for our members to think and share what we were all going through. Short presentations by Carolina Besoa\u00edn, Victor Do\u00f1as, Jaime Landa and Andrea Rihm introduced different aspects of the social turbulence we are facing and which we are trying to understand. Reality that, literally, changed dramatically from one day to another. \"\"<\/a>After the presentations we held discussions in three subgroups, which in the end wrote many of the ideas that emerged on a big piece of paper, a collage of sentences similar to the graffiti in the streets (see photo).<\/p>\n

January witnessed the visit of Jessica Benjamin (USA), with whom a series of activities were organized. First was a Saturday morning workshop in which a clinical case was presented after Jessica gave a comprehensive synthesis of the developments of her theory. The integration of her theory with the clinical case was very fluid.<\/p>\n

On Monday the presentation of the Spanish translation of her latest book, \u201cBeyond Doer and Done to: Recognition Theory, Intersubjectivity and the Third,\u201d by Editorial Gradiva, Lima, took place. Presentations by Gonzalo Acu\u00f1a, Marta del R\u00edo, Carla Fisher and Bernardita Mendez gave accounts of the book from different theoretical and clinical vertices. After the presentation we partied, with a band led by V\u00edctor Do\u00f1as that sang songs of our days before the dictatorship. Memories flooded the room and we all could sing together.<\/p>\n

Finally, on Tuesday a dialogue with Juan Francisco Jordan took place in which an overall journey through all of Jessica\u2019s theoretical and clinical developments was conducted. The dialogue ended in a very stimulating discussion with numerous assistants regarding the sociopolitical situation of Chile and the way her concepts of doer and done to, lawful world, moral third, the gender issues related to the \u201cLas Tesis\u201d performance, could be used to understand and give sense to our social reality, and to open paths to a future that sometimes seems closed or very menacing.<\/p>\n

Most of our programmed future activities have been postponed, waiting for healthier spaces to open up in our country and the whole world.<\/p>\n

Reporte Cap\u00edtulo Chileno IARPP. IARPP-Chile.<\/h2>\n

En medio de una cuarentena en varios de nuestros municipios en Santiago y en tres o m\u00e1s en el resto del pa\u00eds, escribo estas l\u00edneas reportando nuestras actividades de los \u00faltimos 6 meses m\u00e1s o menos.<\/p>\n

Como muchos deben saber la Pandemia del corona virus ha golpeado a nuestro pa\u00eds sobreponi\u00e9ndose sobre el estallido social acaecido en nuestro pa\u00eds. Una batalla por la dignidad y los derechos humanos sociales denegados por mucho tiempo. El comienzo de Marzo fue escenario de muchas protestas , la m\u00e1s grande en el d\u00eda de la mujer. Impresionante. Una reuni\u00f3n familiar de cientos de miles de mujeres, madres, abuelas, hermanas, esposas, parejas, en fin, solo seguir nombrando. La creatividad demostrada en la manifestaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 recordada por a\u00f1os. Pero, luego lleg\u00f3 la Pandemia y la inquietud social comenz\u00f3 a desaparecer en la medida en que la poblaci\u00f3n ha tomado conciencia de la amenaza que estamos enfrentando entre todos. La reuniones masivas han sido limitadas por la autoridad sanitaria hasta que finalmente han ido desapareciendo. Este es entonces el contexto en que estamos habitando.<\/p>\n

Durante el estallido social organizamos un Cabildo abierto a nuestros miembros para pensar y compartir alrededor de lo que todos estamos experimentando. Presentaciones de no m\u00e1s de 15\u2019 a cargo de Carolina Besoa\u00edn, V\u00edctor Do\u00f1as, Jaime Landa y Andrea Rihm introdujeron diferentes aspectos de la turbulencia social que enfrentamos y de la cual estamos tratando de hacer sentido y comprender. Realidad que , literalmente, cambi\u00f3 dram\u00e1ticamente de un d\u00eda para otro. \"\"<\/a>Luego de las presentaciones discutimos en tres grupos peque\u00f1os que al finalizar escribieron en un gran papel al modo de un collage de frases, como los rayados en las calles, muchas de las ideas que emergieron en la discusi\u00f3n. (ver foto)<\/p>\n

Enero fue testigo de la visita de Jessica Benjamin, con qui\u00e9n organizamos una serie de actividades. La primera fue un workshop durante toda la ma\u00f1ana del S\u00e1bado 18. Se present\u00f3 un relato cl\u00ednico luego de que Jessica diera una s\u00edntesis que abarc\u00f3 la integridad del desarrollo de su teor\u00eda. Luego, la integraci\u00f3n de su teor\u00eda con el caso cl\u00ednico fluyo f\u00e1cilmente.<\/p>\n

El Lunes 20 se llev\u00f3 a cabo la presentaci\u00f3n de la traducci\u00f3n al Castellano de su \u00faltimo libro \u201cReconocimiento Mutuo. La Intersubjetividad y el Tercero\u201d Editorial Gradiva, Lima, Per\u00fa. Sendas presentaciones a cargo de Gonzalo Acu\u00f1a, Marta del R\u00edo, Carla Fisher and Bernardita M\u00e9ndez dieron cuenta del libro desde distintos v\u00e9rtices cl\u00ednicos y te\u00f3ricos. Despu\u00e9s de la presentaci\u00f3n hubo una fiesta en que escuchamos canciones compartidas por muchos desde antes de la dictadura tocadas y cantadas por una banda liderada por V\u00edctor Do\u00f1as. Memorias inundaron el local.<\/p>\n

Finalmente el Martes 21 se llev\u00f3 a cabo un di\u00e1logo con Juan Francisco Jord\u00e1n en el cual se hizo una traves\u00eda por toda la obra de Jessica Benjamin. El di\u00e1logo termin\u00f3 en una estimulante discusi\u00f3nn con la audiencia en relaci\u00f3n a la situaci\u00f3n socio-pol\u00edtica de Chile y el modo en que sus conceptos de \u201cquien hace y a quien le hacen\u201d; mundo justo y cotidiano, tercero moral, los temas de g\u00e9nero relacionados con la performance de \u201cLasTesis\u201d, etc. fueron utilizados para comprender y dar sentido a nuestra realidad social y abrir caminos a un futuro que alguna veces aparece cerrado y amenazante.<\/p>\n

Nuestras actividades programadas a futuro han sido pospuestas en espera de espacios m\u00e1s saludables en nuestro pa\u00eds y en el mundo.<\/p>\n
