Greetings from the Athens chapter. Due to the coronavirus pandemic we had to cancel all our in-person chapter activities from March onwards. Our peer supervision\/study group was able to continue its meetings via Zoom. Greece went into an early and strict lockdown with very good results in controlling the spread of the virus but at a significant cost to our economy. In addition, there has been a severe strain on the mental health of the whole population.<\/p>\n

In an effort to salvage the remainder of the tourist season, the country has now lifted most restrictions and opened its borders for the summer, effectively with almost no checks. As a result, the cases have started climbing daily. We will have restrictions gradually introduced once again. Masks are now required in all indoor spaces. I am pessimistic about how all this will evolve once flu season arrives, especially since our economy cannot afford another lockdown.<\/p>\n

At the moment we are working on planning our educational activities for the next academic year. In order to be on the safe side, we are thinking of organizing seminars online, with the exception of our peer supervision\/study group which has decided to meet in person unless contact restrictions are imposed, in which case it will move online. The format of that group will continue to be the same, meeting every second Wednesday 8:30-10:00 pm, with alternating case presentations and discussions of relevant relational writings.
