This year, the Thessaloniki chapter is working in the area of ecopsychoanalysis, a topic encompassing not only climate change but also the current Covid-19 pandemic. Since this is an interdisciplinary field featuring complex conceptualizations and novel approaches, we have approached colleagues from systemic family theory and philosophy to help us organize classes on Bateson\u2019s Ecology of Mind as well as the pertinent ideas of Deleuze and Guattari.<\/p>\n

We also plan to continue our open classes on the theory and clinical praxis of Relational Psychoanalysis in the spring of 2021. We do hope that the pandemic will have eased out by that time, as Thessaloniki is currently the city with the highest number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in Greece. We are in a second nationwide lockdown and we miss the embodied experience of our work.<\/p>\n

We were happy to receive the invitation of the Athens Chapter for 3 of our members to attend the year-long seminar with Avgi Saketopoulou (USA) entitled \u201cThinking and Working Relationally.\u201d This group comprises 12 members who meet twice a month to discuss interesting articles and present clinical vignettes. This is a welcome opportunity for us to revisit old friends and make new ones.<\/p>\n

Beyond formal meetings, we are also planning to have informal Zoom \u2018gatherings\u2019 with old and new members of our chapter, just to keep in touch and offer support to each other.<\/p>\n

We do hope things get better in the Spring!<\/p>\n
