The conference is sponsored by the Stephen A. Mitchell Center for Relational Psychoanalysis to celebrate the establishment of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP).

The purpose of the conference is to create an open forum for the identification and exploration of the significant and controversial issues confronting contemporary psychoanalysis. It will bring together many of the leading figures in psychoanalysis who begin the discussion by presenting clinical work which reflects their current thinking on these issues.
