“Ode to Warrigal Creek” is a poem which resonates with the shame for the massacre of the Gunaikurnai people by Angus MacMillan and others in South Gippsland, Australia, in 1843.

“Roads to Stroud” is two long poems, “Precipices” and “Grasping at Tears.” Illustrated by the author, they represent the journey to himself, to the historic village of Stroud, to the Friary of St. Bernadine of Sienna, and his religious community, the Society of St. Francis. They were long train rides from Sydney to Dungog and across to Stroud, in the Karuah Valley of New South Wales.
