Dear Colleagues,

An invigorating warmth suffused me throughout the four days of our annual conference two months ago in Valencia, Spain. The wonderful intellectual, emotional, psychoanalytic and social engagement among colleagues and friends from around the globe salved my psychosocial spirit. I felt my curiosity enriched and renewed, and the conference’s facilitative impacts on my clinical work were still palpable weeks after my jetlag faded.

I hope those of you who attended the conference felt similarly and that those who attended the plenaries online sensed something of the concentrated energy we experienced in the room. I imagine that those of you who weren’t able to attend will encounter some of the presentations in future journal issues or other psychoanalytic forums.

This issue of The IARPP Bulletin presents observations and reflections from a number of IARPP members who attended the conference. I hope the mosaic of impressions curated from a spectrum of attendees will capture something of the spirit of the live event itself. Please click here to read these pieces.

A round-up of reports from various IARPP committees is included herein, reviewing the past academic year and sharing news of future activity throughout our organization.

If you wish to include news of your recent publications and/or presentations in the next IARPP Bookshelf, please send the following materials to me at MattAibel [@] gmail.com by Sunday, September 24, 2023 in order for your news to appear in the October edition:

  • Title of your recent or upcoming publication(s)/presentation(s) (Please note that we do not publish announcements of IARPP Conference presentations.)
  • An abstract or brief description of the content (around 150 words)
  • Link to a publisher, if applicable, so that members might access or purchase a copy
  • Book cover photo or artwork, if applicable
  • Digital photograph of yourself (jpeg format)
  • Professional contact information as you would like it to appear publicly (city/town in which you practice or work and your email address)
  • Book authors, please provide a brief bio of 75-90 words
  • Presenters, please spell out organizational acronyms and include the location, if in-person

Save the dates for next summer’s Annual Conference to be held in Yucatan, Mexico June 19-23, 2024.

Best wishes,
