We would like to begin by thanking our panelists, Adva Balzam (Israel), Maria Javiera Pomés Arroyave (Chile), Marta López-Botel de Juan (Spain), and Karen Weiser (USA) along with our esteemed discussant Carlos Rodriquez-Sutil (Spain) for their presentations at this year’s Candidates Committee panel at the Annual Conference in Valencia.  This year’s panel was entitled: “Learning from the Other: Contributions, Confusions & Challenges of Drawing from Other Disciplines for New Analysts.”

Our panel participants presented on the influences of other disciplines ranging from queer and intersectional feminism, open field poetics, documentary film-making, and spirituality. The Candidates Committee had the honor of opening the conference with the first panel on the schedule, and what a vitalizing experience it was for all in attendance! We’d also like to extend our gratitude to those in attendance whether it be for the Candidates Committee panel or at the Candidates Reception. We had an opportunity to introduce the new candidates committee members to the other attendees and to meet other potential candidates committee members from other countries. We appreciate your support.
