Christina Emanuel (USA) and Maria Tammone (Italy)
Dear IARPP Community,
We are pleased to present the Bookshelf edition of the IARPP eNews, recognizing the recent creative and scholarly contributions of our international psychoanalytic community.
This issue is unprecedented in its international representation, featuring book, article, and presentation announcements from IARPP members in the USA, Canada, Israel, the UK, Italy, and Norway. Those celebrating publication of books include Katie Gentile (USA), Neil Altman (USA), Gillian Isaacs Russell (USA), Fabio Monguzzi (Italy), Aner Govrin (Israel), Stephanie Brody (USA), Brett Kahr (UK), Robin Holloway (Canada), and co-authors Asaf Rolef Ben-Shahar (Israel) and Rachel Shalit (Israel). We wish to congratulate these authors, as well as the other contributors featured in this edition of the Bookshelf, for their remarkable achievements.
In addition, we are pleased to feature an interview with Asaf Rolef Ben-Shahar (Israel) and Rachel Shalit (Israel) discussing their new book, When Hurt Remains: Relational Perspectives on Therapeutic Failure, featuring a chapter in which Muriel Dimen (USA), despite her poor health, engaged in a lively dialogue with one of the authors. In this interview, Ben-Shahar and Shalit share their reflections on the dialogue with Dimen, as well as further thoughts about the important and rarely discussed topic of analytic failure.
Our next deadline for submissions will be May 29, 2016. Please read below for instructions to submit pieces for future editions of the Bookshelf and eNews.
Sincerely,
Christina Emanuel and Maria Tammone
