Peru

Hello everyone,

Here we are again, catching up with news of IARPP-Perú. As usual, they aren´t few!

In late November we featured Daniel Shaw presenting on his book, Traumatic Narcissism: Relational Systems of Subjugation. Dan gave an excellent lecture and took questions from the public. Thank you very much, Dan, for such a generous contribution. Following the presentation, we have received several calls from people curious about further IARPP-Peru activities.

Another important piece of news is the alliance IARPP-Perú has formed with Vinculares Institute, a 20-year-old institution. Vinculares is directed by Magali Cuzzi, who, while a new IARPP member, has been working relationally for several years. Vinculares will now be the headquarters of IARPP-Peru in Arequipa. Thanks to this alliance, we will have study groups guided by members of IARPP-Perú both by Skype and in person.

Finally, our social proyect, Tarinakuy, will be able to expand starting in February 2020.

Vinculares Institute is, as mentioned above, in Arequipa, the so-called “white city,” a nickname which comes from the color of the volcanic stone with which the city was built. Something about the etymology of the name Arequipa: it comes from the word Ari, which means yes, and Qhipay, which means stay. This certainly represent the warm welcome IARPP has received.

Finally, we are in final coordinations for Jessica Benjamin’s visit in January, to Santiago and Lima, where she will present her latest book, conduct a one-day seminar and another half-day seminar, and also offer group and individual supervision.

All the best,

Marie Saba, IARPP-Perú Chair
