Presentazione

“THE SUPERVISION EXPERIENCE”

Panelists: Arcangela Derosa, Valentina Desiderio, Susanna Federici-Nebbiosi, Giuseppe Magistrale, Gianni Nebbiosi, Maria Silvia Soriato, Paolo Stramba-Badiale.

Moderator: Carmine Schettini

The webinar will take place from Monday March 27th to Sunday April 9th and will be open to 50 participants; it will be conducted in Italian.

Registration will be opened on Tuesday March 14th, and you will receive an email with the link for registration on that date.

Description

The Relational Model has brought out the greater complexity of the therapeutic interaction.

Concepts like Mutuality and Asymmetry, Intersubjectivity, Influence, Empathy, Uncertainty, Unformulated Experience, Negotiation, Enactment, Implicit Relational Knowing, Mutual Recognition, just to mention a few, have deeply transformed our way of cultivating experience in the clinical encounter.

This complexity also concerns the relationship in supervision, a fundamental formative experience in our training – just like personal analysis and the study of theoretical models – which surely has not been discussed enough yet.

The relationship between the therapeutic process and the supervision process; the way in which the subjectivity of the supervisor and of the supervisee are put into play and the consequences this has for the analytic relationship; impasse in the therapeutic relationship and/or in the supervision relationship; how supervisors are chosen in relation to one’s analytic training; how a supervisor is formed; what values the supervisor specifically brings and how he/she takes care of the supervision relationship: this web seminar is dedicated to discussing all these aspects and many others.

We have put together a group of 7 Panelists; each has prepared a short contribution, a personal reflection on the topic: “The Supervision Experience”. Their contributions together will constitute the “text” that will stimulate the discussion among the participants.

We have chosen this title – “The Supervision Experience” – to emphasize from the outset how this topic can be explored from the point of view of both the supervisor and the supervisee.

In order for the two perspectives to be actually represented in the text that we will use for the discussion, the group of Panelists will be formed by 3 senior Psychoanalysts with longstanding experience as both supervisors and supervisees, and 4 colleagues who are “experts in supervision” in the sense that they have received sufficient and diverse supervision, such as to allow them to be engaged in the reflection and discussion on the topic; 2 of them are Psychoanalysts who have recently completed their training and 2 are Psychotherapists who are training to become Psychoanalysts.

All IARPP members who can engage in a conversation in Italian are kindly invited to participate in this web seminar, including those colleagues and friends whose mother tongue is not Italian.
