International Chapters Committee

During the 21st Annual IARPP Conference, the international meeting of chapters took place, bringing together chairs from various corners of the world.

It was a warm and moving gathering, where participants emphasized the value of these meetings as an opportunity to come closer, get to know one another better, and explore ways to foster collaboration and strengthen the bonds among all chapters. The importance of nurturing a sense of belonging to the international IARPP community was highlighted, as well as the need for chapters to become familiar with IARPP’s guidelines so that we can work in alignment.

We were pleased to welcome Alexander Levchuk and Elina Ryzhenkova (Russia); Claudia Villanueva (México Contemporáneo); Kate Wright (Australia); Victoria Font Saravia (Buenos Aires); Anne Marie Maxwell and Alejandra Plaza (IARPP México); Tanya Anagnostopoulou (Thessaloniki Chapter, Greece); and Dimitrios Tsiakos (Athens Chapter, Greece).

Gratitude was expressed for the financial support that enabled several representatives to attend the conference. Two new initiatives were agreed upon: an annual one-on-one meeting between the international chairs and each chapter representative, aimed at sharing the social, economic, and cultural context of each country; and a second annual meeting via Zoom, to complement the in-person gathering held during the international conference. Furthermore, a second virtual meeting will be held prior to the 2026 Annual Conference, allowing us to follow up on agreements and continue weaving the collaborative network that connects us. Finally, chapter representatives were kindly asked to review the IARPP guidelines to ensure that we are all working in a coordinated and coherent manner.

In addition, it was announced that the Romanian chapter has undergone a change in leadership: Costel Popa has assumed the role of chair, succeeding Valentin Miu.

We warmly thank all attendees for their enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to contributing a part of what each of you, as representatives of your communities, bring to enrich IARPP as an international community.
