From the Editor

Dear IARPP Colleagues,

I’m pleased to bring you the current edition of IARPP’s online newsletter, linking members from around the world with news from our relational community.

Now is the time to renew your IARPP membership, if you haven’t already done so. You can go to the Membership Committee page of this newsletter for information and a renewal link.

In this issue, our President, Steven Kuchuck, shares important news related to this summer’s 17th Annual Conference, “Imagining with Eyes Wide Open: Relational Journeys,” in Tel Aviv. You’ll also find reports from the leadership of various IARPP committees and reflections on the year past as well as announcements of this year’s plans from a number of local chapters.

You’ll note that we have changed the title from “eNews” to “Bulletin.” In instituting this change, I may be guilty of falling into the narcissism of small differences (Freud, 1917, 1930). That said, my conscious intention is to bring us up-to-date. Even a neo-Luddite like myself has come to understand that almost all such organizational newsletters are now online (the “e” is for electronic), so if we can now take the electronic/internet delivery system as a given, we no longer need the “e-“ prefix. As for “bulletin,” its use was popularized in the Napoleonic Wars “as the name for dispatches sent from the front and meant for the home public” (Online Etymology Dictionary, n.d.). So, from my virtual front to your virtual home, enjoy. (You can analyze my Napoleon Complex as you see fit.)

Your submissions are welcome. Please see below for information on submitting items for the next issue of the IARPP Bookshelf. The submission deadline is Sunday, May 5, 2019.

With best wishes,
