Since our last report, Hanni Mann-Shalvi (Israel) presented a challenging couple therapy case. This time we tried a new format, presenting the case in three parts: the background of the couple; the verbatim of the hour; and lastly the complete paper. The new format appeared to have drawn more members’ participation in the discussion.
Following this couple case, Maria Apostolopoulou and Marianthi Michalakopoulos (both of Greece) offered their group case for discussion. This was a case of a long-term group, which highlighted the relationship between the group co-therapists, examined how projective identification developed, and how the understanding of the parallel process in supervision brought the group dynamics to light.
Another couple case will be next, this one presented by Phil Ringstrom (USA). We eagerly look forward to this discussion.
We plan to hold another online Zoom meeting with the SIG members in the fall. We invite IARPP members interested in couple and/or group therapy to join our group.
