The world turned upside down during the first part of 2020 in unsettling and unprecedented ways. One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is IARPP’s commitment to online learning for the members of our international community, this perhaps mattering more now than ever.

Because our conference in Los Angeles was postponed until 2021, the Webinar Committee was given the opportunity to add a program to our 2020 lineup. Scheduled for July, this webinar will feature Gillian Isaacs Russell (USA), the author of Screen Relations: The Limits of Computer-Mediated Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (Karnac, 2015). In this timely webinar Gillian will take up both practical and theoretical aspects of remote psychoanalytic treatment, a reality all of us are facing now. We thank Gillian for her willingness to participate in this webinar on such short notice, and we anticipate a rich discussion among the participants.

Following this program we will feature an Italian-language webinar taking place from October 5-18, 2020. This program is entitled “Recovering the Future: Experiences of Hope, Fear and Uncertainty in the Analytic Work and Daily Life,” and it will feature the contributions of a group of panelists jointly writing and presenting a text on this important topic. The co-moderators will be Carmine Schettini (Italy) and Maria Silvia Soriato (Italy).

Following our Italian-language webinar, Stephen Seligman (USA) will be featured in a webinar in December. Additionally, our committee members Adriana Cuenca (Mexico & USA) and Alejandra Plaza (Mexico) are working on a Spanish-language webinar in the near future. We look forward to announcing further details for these programs very soon.

Finally, we wish to thank and acknowledge the Child, Adolescent and Parent Psychotherapy Committee for their wonderful collaboration in organizing the recent webinar, “Relational Child Therapy and the Intergenerational Transmission of Traumatic Experience,” which took place this past December. In this program Laurel Silber (USA) led a discussion of two of her articles, with Macarena Lopez Magnasco (Chile) and Fabia Banella (Italy) serving as discussants, along with moderator Esther Bamberger (Israel). Because of the care and responsiveness of the presenter, moderator, discussants and participants, this webinar was particularly rich and meaningful.

Aggiornamento dal Comitato Webinar

Il mondo è stato stravolto in questa prima parte del 2020, in modo inquietante e senza precedenti. Una cosa che certamente non è cambiata è l’impegno della IARPP per l’apprendimento online per i soci della nostra comunità internazionale, e questo forse ora è più importante che mai.

Dal momento che la Conferenza di Los Angeles è stata rimandata al 2021, come Comitato Webinar abbiamo la possibilità di aggiungere una novità al nostro programma: in Luglio avremo un webinar condotto da Gillian Isaacs Russell (USA), autrice di: “Psicoanalisi attraverso lo schermo: I limiti delle terapie online” (nella traduzione italiana, Astrolabio, 2017, dall’originale: “Screen Relations: The Limits of Computer-Mediated Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy”, pubblicato da Karnak nel 2015).

In questo webinar, che arriva proprio al momento giusto, Gillian si occuperà degli aspetti sia pratici sia teorici del trattamento psicoanalitico a distanza, una situazione che tutti noi stiamo affrontanto in questo momento. Siamo grati a Gillian per la sua disponibilità a partecipare a questo webinar con un preavviso così breve e che fa prevedere una ricca discussione tra i partecipanti.

Il nostro programma proseguirà con un webinar in lingua italiana che si svolgerà dal 5 al 18 Ottobre 2020, dal titolo “Recuperare il futuro: esperienze di speranza, paura e incertezza nel lavoro analitico e nella vita quotidiana”; esso si avvarrà di un gruppo di Panelist che prepareranno ciascuno una parte e lo presenteranno come un lavoro comune. Il webinar sarà co-moderato da Carmine Schettini (Italia) e Maria Silvia Soriato (Italia).

Dopo il webinar in italiano, ci sarà in Dicembre un webinar condotto da Stephen Seligman (USA). Inoltre, I nostri membri del comitato Adriana Cuenca (Messico e USA) e Alejandra Plaza (Messico) stanno lavorando per un webinar in lingua spagnola per un prossimo futuro. Ci auguriamo di darvi presto nuove informazioni a riguardo.

Infine, vogliamo ringraziare e fare un riconoscimento al Child, Adolescent and Parent Psychotherapy Committee per la loro speciale collaborazione nel realizzare il recente webinar: “Terapia relazionale del bambino e trasmissione intergenerazionale del trauma”, che si è svolto nello scorso Dicembre. In questo webinar Laurer Silber (USA) ha condotto la discussione di due suoi articoli, con Macarena Lopez Magnasco (Cile) e Fabia Banella (Italia) nel ruolo di Discussant e Esther Bamberger (Israele) come Moderatrice.
