Surviving an Eating Disorder: Strategies for Family and Friends (4th Edition)

Book Announcement by Judith Brisman (USA)

For more than thirty years, Surviving an Eating Disorder: Strategies for Family and Friends has been an essential resource for the “silent sufferers,” those affected by a loved one’s eating disorder. In the new fourth edition of this Harper Collins title, co-authors Michele Siegel, Judith Brisman and Margot Weinshel put family and friends at the center of the treatment process, providing the latest information on the methods and practices available to facilitate the recovery process.

Other treatment manuals or self-help books propose change, but Surviving an Eating Disorder is the first to consider, from a more psychodynamic perspective, why change can be so hard for everyone involved. Drawing on case examples, this new edition explains the latest treatments and offers concrete advice and support, urging readers to care for both themselves and their relationships as they support their loved ones struggling with food and their bodies.
