What is Relational Psychoanalysis?
Relational Psychoanalysis has developed in both the USA and Europe to include the intersubjective, interpersonal perspective in clinical work and theory. Many colleagues ask us 'Aren't we all relational?' However, when we begin to examine how this perspective works clinically, crucial differences appear. This 'Teach-In Event' is an opportunity to explore with us current relational thinking in clinical practice and theory. We will be discussing the history, context, development and implications of relationality; a clinical paper by Jody Davies (sent out in advance); personal routes to relational perspectives from diverse backgrounds including psychoanalytic, humanistic, integrative and Jungian.
