Introduction to the IARPP 2008 Baltimore Conference and Pre-Conference Learning Objectives
- At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to define and evaluate the links between Relational Theories and Attachment Theory in clinical practice as well as recognize their implications with respect to the larger issues of Society and Spirit.
- This conference is intended for psychoanalysts, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, marriage and family counselors, and clinical professional counselors.
- The conference is organized to facilitate maximum opportunity for questions, comments and dialogue between the audience and the presenters, allowing clinicians to engage in an extensive variety of topics relevant to the field.
Learning Objectives for the IARPP 2008 Baltimore Conference:
At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the relationship between a Relational Perspective and Attachment Theory and be able to identify at least one area of similarity and one area of dissimilarity.
- Describe at least one aspect of what each theory contributes to our ordinary clinical work.
- Describe at least one aspect of what each theory contributes to our clinical work with very troubled traumatized patients.
- Recognize at least one aspect of each theory which opens the other to reconsideration and augmentation.
- Describe the synergy that develops as each theory is brought under consideration in conjunction with the other.
Learning Objectives for the IARPP 2008 Baltimore Pre-Conference:
- At the conclusion of Pre-Conference Master Class A, participants will be able to describe three of the basic principles that illuminate the theory and practice of the relational perspective.
- At the conclusion of Pre-Conference Master Class B, participants will be able to identify at least two of the principal theorists and researchers who developed attachment theory and describe their contributions.
- At the conclusion of Pre-Conference Master Class C, participants will be able to identify how at least two aspects of attachment theory and two aspects of relational theories can be made operational in clinical practice.

Room Rate and Reservations
A rate of U.S. $172.00 (single or double occupancy) has been negotiated with the hotel for attendees of IARPP 2008. The rate is exclusive of applicable state sales tax currently 6.0% and 7.5% City Occupancy Tax.
Reservations must be made by Wednesday, April 27, 2008 in order to receive the discounted group rate. Please be sure to mention you are attending the 2008 IARPP Conference to receive the discounted group rate.
Discounted rates apply until the reservation deadline of April 27, 2008 or until all rooms in the group block have been reserved, whichever occurs first. After April 27, guest rooms and discounted group rates might not be available. We encourage you to confirm your reservations early to avoid any confusion. A credit card or check will be required to guarantee your reservation.
