Candidates

As this year comes to a close, we would like to thank Sandra Toribio Caballero (Spain) for her warm, generous, and most capable leadership in her role as Board Liaison for the Candidates Committee. Saying good-bye to Sandra as part of her assuming the role of Board President was bittersweet in that it means we are once again able to work closely with a past committee member, Fabia Banella (Italy), who left our committee when she joined the IARPP Board. We welcome Fabia as our new Board Liaison and look forward to working with her in the coming months as we prepare for the upcoming Candidates Committee Webinar and Candidates Panel at the IARPP Annual Conference in Merida.

We would also like to welcome two new members to our committee: Valeria Gómez Martínez from Mexico and Oren Sol from Israel.

Valeria is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, with a Master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Universidad Intercontinental. She is a member of APPR México Contemporáneo. As part of her relational training she completed a diploma in Relational Psychoanalysis. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in couples and family psychoanalysis at the Universidad Intercontinental. Valeria currently lives in Mexico City where she works in private practice with adolescents, couples and adults.

Oren is a Clinical Psychologist with a Ph.D. from the doctoral program in Psychoanalysis, Tel Aviv University. She’s a lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities, Tel Aviv University. Oren is a candidate in Tel Aviv Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and a former member of the IARPP Israel committee. Her research topic is the incarnations of the concept of action (non-verbal enacting) in psychoanalysis in psychoanalysis in the light of philosophy and its contemporary meaning as marking the entry of the psychoanalytic field into the postmodern crisis. Oren works in a private clinic in Tel Aviv.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the upcoming Candidates Committee Webinar that will be taking place in early 2024.
