The 2019 IARPP Conference is a great opportunity to discuss the concept of imagination. How can we keep imagination alive, vital, passionate and creative? What does it contribute to our lives, and what does it mean for individuals or a society when there is a failure of imagination?
The plenaries and panels, each morning’s large group, the discussion groups, and the pre-conference are all exciting opportunities to share thoughts and dreams and to imagine together. These are also opportunities to understand the obstacles to owning the freedom to imagine.
We also want to draw your attention to two unique events designed specifically for the Tel Aviv conference by our Culture Committee:
The IMAGINARIUM: The activities in the IMAGINARIUM correspond with the theme of the conference and are experiential. The IMAGINARIUM is meant to be a sort of transitional space, a place for relaxation and rest. It will take place at the end of the first full day, Friday evening, at the hotel. Activities in this section will explore our imagination using pre-verbal methods. All its facilitators are therapists holding a relational orientation and working in various artistic modalities: plastic arts, music, theatre and movement. The activities will be held in small groups.
The Conference’s Social Evening: “South Side Dinner and Party.” This event will be held at Studio 207, located in south Tel Aviv-Jaffa in the heart of an industrial area. The Studio is a hidden place which brings charm and artistic atmosphere. Our conference concept, Imagination, has magic, a special energy, creativity, wonder. We have recruited artists’ creative minds towards building an outstanding social evening that combines boutique art and a culinary buffet. The evening will take off into a party. Dress Code is informal; please bring dancing shoes. (Specific culinary requests according to diet or tradition will be respected.)
