We are very happy to report that more Australian delegates than ever before attended this year’s conference in Tel Aviv. More than 15 (almost 10% of our membership) made the rather circuitous journey to Israel.
The IARPP-Australia chapter just held its third seminar of the 2019-2020 year, with Jill Salberg (USA). Presenting live from the United States, Salberg spoke with the Australian chapter in a two-hour interactive video session entitled “Ruptures and Crises When Ending: Informative Enactments.” The seminar focused on crises that can emerge in the termination phase of treatment, creating ruptures but also presenting opportunities for the clinical dyad to break through to key material that had until then been resisted. Salberg’s thesis is that the end of treatment can present a new possibility to deepen the treatment before it is completed.
This year’s seminar series has attracted an audience from as far afield as Russia, China, Japan, both coasts of the US and from other colleagues ‘down under’ in New Zealand.
Look out for our postings on the IARPP listserv.
