As our international community continues to grow and strengthen, we are happy to announce that a second chapter has been established in Mexico, which will be known as “Capítulo IARPP México Contemporáneo” or “Mexican Contemporary IARPP Chapter.” Work has also begun to establish new chapters in Buenos Aires, South Africa and Romania.
On June 2 the ICC organized and invited all the chapters to our first online chapters meeting via Zoom conference. Despite the very wide range of time zones that we needed to span, we had representatives from Greece-Athens and Greece-Thessaloniki, Mexico and the new Mexican chapter, Peru and Chile, Portugal and Israel, with apologies from Argentina, Australia and Spain. The conference went very well and, remarkably, we had no technical problems. All the chapters reported on their activities and plans for the year, and we were able to have a very engaged discussion.
The main issues that emerged were:
1) A strong wish to be able to share access to each others’ seminars, conferences and other activities online.
2) In relation to this, a suggestion that a section be set up on the IARPP website or in some other medium for notices to inform members about forthcoming activities and online events in the chapters, in addition to the more general reports in the IARPP Bulletin, in order to make it more possible for members to know about and participate in events in other chapters.
3) The idea of forming a translations committee to tackle the ongoing issue of the need for translation of books and articles into languages other than English.
4) The wish to meet more frequently online, especially in view of the very positive experience of this first meeting.
The ICC now plans to hold at least two online meetings a year, in addition to a meeting at the annual IARPP Conference. We want to thank Elisa Zazzera for her assistance and support in organizing this first online meeting. The IARPP office is also in the process of setting up a way in which chapters will be able to post upcoming activities on the IARPP website. More information about this soon!

Comité de capítulos internacionales

Estamos contentos en esta edición de presentar los informes de varios capítulos internacionales como así también de nuestro grupo en Turquía.
Estamos también satisfechos de anunciar que, en virtud del crecimiento y fortalecimiento de nuestra comunidad internacional, un segundo capítulo se ha formado en México. Se denomina “Capítulo IARPP México Contemporáneo”. También han comenzado a establecerse nuevos capítulos en Buenos Aires, Sud Africa y Rumania.
El 2 de Junio el Comité de Capítulos Internacionales (CCI) organizó e invitó a todos los capítulos a nuestra primera reunión online a través de la plataforma de Zoom. A pesar de la amplia cantidad de zonas horarias a cubrir, contamos con representantes de Grecia-Atenas, Grecia-Thessaloniki, Mexico con sus dos capítulos, Peru, Chile, Portugal e Israel. Recibimos disculpas de Argentina, Australia y España.
La conferencia anduvo muy bien y, sorprendentemente, no tuvimos ningún problema técnico. Todos los capítulos informaron de sus actividades y planes anuales y pudimos tener una discusión profunda y seria.
Los principales temas que surgieron fueron:
1) Un deseo importante de acceder a los seminarios, conferencias y otras actividades de los otros capítulos via internet.
2) En relación al punto anterior se sugirió que en el sitio web de IARPP, o en algún otro medio, se contara con una sección para informar a los miembros de las futuras actividades y eventos online de los diversos capítulos. Esto, además de los informes generales en los Boletines de IARPP, de modo de hacer más accesible a los miembros conocer y participar de las actividades de los otros capítulos.
3) Surgió la idea de formar un comité de traducción para lidiar con el permanente problema de traducir libros y artículos a idiomas distintos del inglés.
4) Y finalmente, tomando en cuenta la buena experiencia de la primera reunión, la motivación de reunirse más frecuentemente online.
El Comité de Capítulos Internacionales tiene contemplado celebrar al menos dos reuniones online al año además de las reuniones en las conferencias anuales de IARPP. Queremos agradecer especialmente a Elisa Zazzera su asesoría y apoyo en la organización de nuestra primera reunión online. La oficina de IARPP esta trabajando en hacer factible que los capítulos puedan informar de sus actividades futuras en el sitio web de IARPP. Prontamente les informaremos de esto último!
