From the Editor

Dear IARPP colleagues,

We have a very full IARPP Bulletin this month, with a number of reports coming in from IARPP committees and international chapters. Given that many of you are on August vacation as you receive this issue, I’m hopeful that you will have more time than usual to luxuriate in the exciting undertakings of your colleagues from around the world.

The issue features reflections on June’s Tel Aviv conference from a good number of attendees, as well as a delightful photo montage. I was unable to attend the conference myself, so I am grateful to Christina Emanuel (USA) for enthusiastically taking on the tasks of compiling and editing the entire conference section. Reflections from the conference organizers themselves will come in the following issue. In addition, I’m pleased to include in this issue a preview of next year’s conference, to be held in Los Angeles.

Beginning with this issue, I will be digging into the inner workings of IARPP’s numerous committees, speaking with their chairs and introducing you to their members, in order to give you more familiarity with your colleagues and the work they do behind the scenes to enrich IARPP. This issue takes a closer look at the Colloquium Committee, which is currently gearing up for November’s membership-wide colloquium.

I welcome your submissions for the next IARPP Bookshelf issue. You are invited to share news of your recent or upcoming publications and presentations. Note, however, we do not publish announcements of presentations given at the Annual Conference.

The submission deadline is September 15, 2019. Please include the following materials with your submission:

  • Title of your recent or upcoming publication or presentation
  • Brief description of its content (such as an abstract)
  • Link to a publisher (if applicable) so that members might access or purchase a copy
  • Book cover photo or artwork (if applicable)
  • Digital photograph of yourself (jpeg format)
  • Professional contact information as you would like it to appear publicly for our readers (email and mailing address)
  • For presentations, please include location and spell out any acronyms.

Submissions should be emailed to Matt.Aibel [@] gmail.com.

Wishing you well,

Matt Aibel, LCSW
