The Israeli chapter has been dealing with numerous changes brought by COVID-19. Prohibition of gatherings have made all in-person meetings, conferences, or any other social and professional events impossible. Furthermore, the atmosphere of anxiety and restriction influenced the ability of professionals to volunteer themselves for our activities.
The pandemic led us to postpone two successful lecture series: “Trapped in the Web,” which dealt with the influence and ramifications of the technological medium on our profession, and “The Legacy of Lew Aron,” in which senior chapter members discussed chapters from A Meeting of Minds. Since we wanted to hold these meetings in a warm, welcoming and intimate environment, we felt it best to postpone these series until a better time – which has not arrived yet.
We were helped by lectures given in the last IARRP Conference in Israel, on Imagining. The Israeli speakers who participated in the conference offered their lectures anew to all on Zoom. We also translated Galit Atlas’ paper so that Galit could present her talk in Hebrew. One silver lining of the pandemic is that many of our activities, which prior to the pandemic were for a fee, have now been made available on Zoom for free.
The positive atmosphere we managed to create, and the ability to maintain a professional and in-depth discussion, helped us plan this coming year.
In the new year, we will continue the lectures on Lew Aron, and we have a new series of lectures in memory of Philip Bromberg. Donnel Stern will be the first speaker, and his talk will be translated into Hebrew.
We will continue to have a Colloquium in Hebrew, on a paper written in Hebrew. We are planning a conference for the Israeli chapter which will take place on Zoom, at the end of the year. The conference will include lectures as well as discussion groups and workshops.
The activity is wide and fulfilling, and we have received a great deal of positive feedback. Zoom has made it possible for us not only to reduce fees but also to include participants from all over Israel. However, the wish for contact, as well as lowered anxiety and chaos, has been increasingly rising.

דווח על פעילות הפורום ההתיחסותי הישראלי
הפורום הישראלי התמודד ומתמודד עם השנויים הרבים שהקורונה הביאה אתה: האסור על התקהלויות ומכאן אי האפשרות לקיים מפגשים, כנסים או כל ארוע אחר. בנוסף, האווירה של חרדה וצמצום השפיעה גם על הנכונות של אנשי מקצוע מחד, להתנדב עבור אחרים ומאידך, הרבה מהפעילויות של הפורום שבעבר היינו גובים עליהן תשלום-ניתנו בחינם בזום.
נאלצנו לבטל המשך קיומן של שתי סדרות של מפגשים שזכו להצלחה גדולה: “לכודים ברשת” וסדרת הרצאות על “מורשתו של לו ארון”.
לכודים ברשת עסקה בהשפעת המדיום הטכנולוגי על המקצוע שלנו ובמפגשים אלה נעזרנו במומחים מתחומי המדיה הטכנולוגית; בהרצאות לו ארון- אנשי מקצוע בכירים מהפורום ההתיחסותי, בחרו פרקים מתוך ספרו המפגש והתדיינו על פרקים אלה. מכיוון שרצינו לקיים סדרות אלה במפגשי פנים מול פנים ובאווירה מתאימה- דחינו את המשך קיום הסדרות לימים טובים יותר-שלא הגיעו.
נעזרנו בהרצאות שניתנו בכנס יארפפ האחרון, שהתקיים בישראל, על דמיון-ואפשרנו לכל המעוניין לקחת חלק בהרצאות שניתנו בזום, על ידי מרצים ישראלים שלקחו חלק בכנס. את הרצאתה של גלית אטלס תרגמנו לעברית והיא ניתנה בעברית. האווירה הטובה שהצלחנו ליצור והאפשרות לקיים שיח מקצועי ומעמיק עזרו לנו לתכנן את השנה.
השנה אנחנו נמשיך את הרצאות לו ארון ונפתח סדרה חדשה לזכרו של פיליפ ברומברג. את הסדרה יפתח דונל סטרן והרצאתו תתורגם לעברית. נמשיך לקיים קולוקוויום בעברית-על מאמר שנכתב בעברית ובסוף השנה אנחנו מתכננים כנס של הסניף הישראלי. כנס שכולו יתקיים בזום ויכלול הן הרצאות, הן קבוצות דיון והן סדנאות.
הפעילות ענפה ומשמחת וזוכה להרבה תגובות חיוביות. הזום מאפשר לנו הן להוריד מחירים והן לפנות לקהל מכל רחבי ישראל, יחד עם זאת המשאלה לקרבה פיסית ולרגיעה בחרדה ובאי הסדר שכולנו נתונים בו-עולה ומתגברת.
